The Cricket MSGM8 is a decent starter messaging phone with a few design flaws. The good: Cricket MSGM8 has a simple easy-to-use interface and a full QWERTY keyboard. In addition, it also supports Bluetooth, social networking applications (think facebook, twitter, linkedin, etc.. ), and lastly a speech recognition application .
The bad: The photo quality of the 1.3 mega pixel camera could be improved. Cricket MSGM8 has a cramped keyboard.
The bottom line: Despite a few design flaws, the Cricket MSGM8 is still a decent starter messaging phone. It is a full-QWERTY feature phone which utilizes Cricket's 3G network. What's more, you can personalize the phone with a variety of wallpaper, screensavers, and alert tones.
Design
The mobile measures 4.2 inches long by 2.3 inches wide by 0.5 inch thick. It's also quite lightweight at 3.7 ounces. The MSGM8 has a very simple straightforward design with straight lines and rounded corners. The screen measures 2.2 inches, it supports 262000 colors (220x170 pixels). It is clad in a soft touch plastic material and is comfortable to hold in the hand.
Multimedia
The MSGM8 has a 1.3-megapixel camera that can take pictures in four resolutions (1,280x960, 640x480, 320x240, and 160x120). Settings include three shutter, a self-timer, mirror view mode, five presets for white balance, four image color effects, nine fun frames, and three shutter sounds. Colors looked good but the images were not well.
Call Features/Quality
Cricket MSGM8 has a 2.5mm headset jack. On the whole, call quality was quite good despite some voice quality issues.

Cricket MSGM8 comes with Signal CDMA 800 MHz/1700 MHz/1900 MHz and microSD/microSDHC.
Battery
The Cricket MSGM8 features a 950mAh lithium ion battery, and it is good for a rated talk time of 5 hours and up to 10 days of standby time.
