The good: The DROID 2 features a faster processor, double the RAM of the original Droid, Bluetooth 2.1, 3G, GPS, and integrated Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n). Its Keyboard has been improved and it is better than the original Droid.
The bad: The Droid 2 doesn't have a front-facing camera, and its call quality could be better.
The bottom line: The Motorola Droid 2 is the first smartphone runs Android 2.2 out of the box. It offers a number of improvements, including a sleeker design, better keyboard, faster processor. It is a good choice for those who want a smartphone with a physical keyboard.
Design
Measuring 4.58 inches long by 2.38 inches wide by 0.54 inch deep and weighing 5.96 ounces, the DROID 2 has a sturdy, comfortable feel. Its silver-and-blue color combo is attractive. On the front of device, there is a 3.7-inch, WVGA (480x854 pixels) capacitive touch screen. To the left side, you'll find the microUSB port with an LED light, while on the right edge, there are the volume rocker and smaller sized 2-level shutter key. Both the 3.5mm headset jack and smaller sized dedicated power button are located on the top side. Flipping over to the back there is a 5-megapixel camera.
Multimedia
The
Motorola DROID 2 has a 5-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash and auto-focus, the image quality taken on the camera to be any different from what we saw on the original Motorola DROID. Its recorded video clips at the highest resolution (720x480 pixels) were hazy. Its built-in music and video player supports a great variety of music and video codecs, including MP3, AAC, WMA9, OGG, WMV, MPEG-4, and H.264.
Call Features/Quality
Its call quality is general. But the speakerphone calls is good, slightly hollow but clear and loud enough to have conversations in various environments.
Memory/Storage
The Droid 2 offers 8GB of onboard memory and an 8GB microSD card, plus an expansion slot (supports up to 32GB cards).
Battery
The DROID 2 has a 1,400mAh lithium ion battery with a rated talk time of 9.6 hours and 315 hours of standby time.
