As the success of Motorola Droid, we show more expectations on Motorola's next Android phone. After numerous rounds of network exposure, Motorola recently joint with Verizon Wireless, announced the official debut of flagship MOTO Droid X phone as Droid's second generation.
MOTO Droid X phone equips with Android 2.1 operating system, using the 4.3-inch WVGA resolution touch screen, which provides supporting for multi-touch. And its virtual keyboard introduces Swype technology, so that users can spell words by paddling fingers on the virtual keyboard. It has built-in 1GHz processor chip, PowerVR SGX 530 GPU graphics processor, 8-megapixel camera, dual LED flash and autofocus. The phone can record 720P high-definition video, as well as display and browse HD pictures and videos shot on the phone by connecting phone to large screen.
Motorola Droid X also provides supporting to the WiFi 802.11n standard, which faster the speed of transferring the wireless LAN data. Besides, Its phones bridge function, which is similar with Windows Mobile, turns the mobile phone into a 3G Modem. This means that Motorola Droid 2 can be used as a Wi-Fi hotspot to share Wi-Fi network with nearby devices.
It is worth mentioning that the phone body is only 9.9 mm thick, making it the world's thinnest sliding cover touch screen phone. However, the dimension of 127.5 x 65.5 x 9.9 mm and the use of metal material makes the phone's weight reaches 155 grams. As for other aspects, functions such as GPS navigation, electronic compass, gravity sensing, 3.5 mm headphone jack, bluetooth and memory card expansion are all arranged. In order to get longer standby time, Motorola is also installed a 1540 MA battery, producing continuous four hundred and eighty minutes of talk time and 220 hours of standby time.
It is reported that this phone will be on sale on July 15 in the United States. Signing two-year contract with the carrier, the phone will sell for $199.99.
