It is reported that iPhone 5 will actually come with a dual mode GSM and CDMA radios. This guess comes from Qualcomm Gobi mobile phone chipset, Qualcomm Gobi cellular chipset was found the Verizon iPhone 4 was inside when it was taken to pieces. So we suppose that iPhone 5 will be a dual mode GSM/CDMA global phone, confirms Verizon CFO.
As thought, the chip will also be included in the Apple's upcoming iPhone 5 which will be a world phone confirmed by an executive at Verizon. If it become true, this must be a exciting news for the users who not so much for the carriers. And probablyiPhone 5 users do not need to unlock their equipment. At the same time, this also mean an iPhone 5 bought from Verizon may work on AT&T and vice versa.
I think iPhone 5 will give users more choice and more flexibility about which carrier they want to use, but this is not a very welcoming feature for the carriers. iPhone 5 is expected to come out this September with an 8 (or 12.6) megapixel camera and a dual core processor from the iPad 2.
