Root HTC Desire HD, Install S-OFF And Clockwork Recovery Guide

The instruction show you how to root HTC Desire HD, install S-OFF and clockwork recovery. It has three main steps, may be there have a large amount of steps you must do to achieve its goal. The first one is to Download Paul's visionary+ tool:

1. Install Visionary+ on your DHD. Then run it, enable Set system r/w after root.

2. Select "Temproot Now!" - wait until it's finished. Click Attempt Permroot now!

3. DHD automatically reboot's. If You get after that sign # it mean's that everything went fine.

The second steps, Install engineering version of HBOOT to get S-OFF:



1. Download sfjuocekr DHD script for flashing HBOOT. Unzip it and copy it to Your SDCard.

2. Run Terminal Emulator, type su. Then type sh /sdcard/DHD/check.

3. If everything went OK type, sh /sdcard/DHD/backup.

4. If this also went OK proceed with, sh /sdcard/DHD/hboot.

The last step, Install custom recovery image:

1. ROM manager now officially support's Desire HD, now we could use it to download and install custom clockwork image.

2. Run android market app on Your DHD and download and install ROM Manager app from market.

3. Download and install ROM manager. Run ROM manager and select first option.

4. Wait until ROM Manager say's that installation went successfully. Then well done.

5. DHD should reboot in clockwork recovery manager.
