How To Install iOS 5 Beta Without UDID Register

Apple releases their beta firmware to developers for testing and feedback. But people other than developers would like access to the firmware not for free. Apple doesn't provide an API for UDID registrations so we have to do each one by hand. Previously, Apple has only configured the IPSW files of iOS 5 betas to only work with Mac OS X. We will update this question once we can verify compatibility with Windows.



What steps should we take to install iOS 5 beta?

1. Register your UDID with iOS Beta Activation

2. Download the firmware: http://imodzone.net/download

3. Sync your iPhone with iTunes

4. In iTunes, hold OPTION (Mac) and click the "Restore" button

5. Select the .ipsw file you downloaded in Step 2.

6. When prompted, select your most recent backup to get all your apps and contacts back.

7. Enjoy!
